"Yeah we are." She smiled at him with her inner radiance showing through. Her fur stuck together and she began to groom her fur. "The one thing i don't like about water is the way it makes my fur stick together." She giggled trying not to seem nervous.

He observed her grooming silently, a wider grin blooming on his lips. Edging closer to her stone perch, Dallas rested his chin on the rock beside her. “Heh, well, that may be—but hey, you still look very bea—” He coughed. “…well, you know, not like this—” He shook his head, his fur fluffing out in a Mohawk formation. He rolled his eyes, the rest of his submerged body flattened with the weight of water. His skull seemed fluffier than a chia pet.

As his fur fluffed out her eyes went wide and she began to laugh. Her fur neglected, she stands and walks over to him. "You are very fluffy. I thought that i had a lot of fur, you have a lot more then me." She laid down in front of him. She focused on his blue eyes waiting for a response.

“Yeah, really—I feel like I look twice as heavy whenever this happens,” he laughed, gazing into the green of her eyes as she came near. Both appeared misshapen and far from elegant, but, all the same, the feverish pup-lilke joy that warmed his chest seemed to cancel out any possible issues. At the moment, the big problems seemed so trivial, and the tiny springs seemed so large. And then the wind brought something far from promising to his attention. Freezing in place, Dallas lifted his nose, scenting the air. What… that’s not wolf… not prey, either. “September, do you smell that?” Cougar? Bear?

"What?" She scents the air. "What is that?" She looks around for the source of the scent. Her hackles try to raise and succeeded in spikes of fur stuck together. She looked vicious as she began to growl at the intruder. Why did this have to interrupt our time. Well now i guess this gives us something to talk about later.

The hairs along his spine rose like a row of quills, his eyes fixating on the border of woodland that surrounded the springs. The water and innumerable pack scents flushed his senses; he was nearly blind. Twitching his nostrils, the fragments of the alien smell growing stronger. A low growl stirred in his chest. “I don’t know… but whatever it is, I don’t think it’s friendly.” Rousing from the safety of the spring, Dallas slid onto a nearby boulder and lifted himself to a stand. He studied the branches, the amount of breeze—feline! He gritted his fangs. “Mountain lion… what could’ve possessed it to wander all the way down here?”

"That is a good question." She looks at the direction of the scent. "It could be have a illness." She moved back and forth from paw to paw. Her tail tucked itself between her legs. She stood her ground looking fierce even with her slightly submissive stance..

Dallas’ stomach churned, an unpalatable concoction of anxiety and impatience driving him on edge. “That’s all too possible,” he muttered, pupils darting from left to right. “Which means that the beast just got even more dangerous, unfortunately for us.” Please, don’t be rabies. He stood taller, tail rising slightly. “We should probably climb to the higher rocks… quickly.”

She turns and climbs on a path that seems easy. She then strays from the path. She stumbles and almost falls. She fur flattens along with her ears. "Dallas!" She yelps in surprise.

“Huh?” Already nearing the highest of perches, Dallas’ form whirled about, his eyes scanning for a glimpse of familiar silver fur… and any approaching cougars, as well. Thankfully, the cat did not seem to have gotten that close, though his chest tightened at the sound of the cry. Leaping down towards lower and damper stones, he swiftly reached out, grasping the scruff of her neck between his jaws. “Gotcha,” he murmured between mouthfuls of hair.
Unfortunately, and currently unbeknownst to Dallas, a beige figure crept into the clearing, already locked into a hunting crouch.

She whimpers and flinches as he caught her scruff. " Thank you." she looks around at what she could. all she saw at the moment was the rock face. Her body curled up like a pups instinctively. She started to get dizzy as well the longer she dangled in front of him. Her eyesight failed her but as she moved a beige blur was not more then three giant leaps away. She whimpered in warning. "watch." she could only get the single word out if her maw as she slid into temporary darkness. Fear and adrenaline coursed through her but she was not able to move.

His ear twitched, hearing the partial warning but unable to prepare for combat. With September hanging from his jaws, there was no way to quickly turn around. So, with a quick grunt, he coiled his limbs to the ground, and swung his head towards a nearby—yet closer to the ground—stone. Then, uttering a “Brace yourself!”, he finally released his grasp, praying that she would land safely. Immediately, he turned his head to be greeted by an enraged caterwauling. “Oh, boy…” The cougar pounced, knocking Dallas onto his flank and sending them tumbling from the stony outcrop and into the water below.

She landed and rolled a little ways with her body like jello. She finally stopped her mind was spinning as she came to and her vision came back just enough to see a blur of black and beige fur go over the edge. She stumbled to her paws and scrambled to the edge of the stone. "Dallas! " She barked in fear.

September’s worried yelp barely reached his ears just as the weight of his attacker dragged him under. His jaw parted in a silent reply, but all that escaped was a cyclone of bubbles. His spine rammed into the floor of the spring—far more painfully than the first time—and he blindly squirmed about. The cougar, fortunately, seemed rather dazed as well—its legs churned frantically, claws whistling through the heated water like a blade through butter. Dallas felt the sting of one claw graze his side, and dived deeper, trying to avoid the feline’s wrath. A vague thought formed in his head. Looks like I’m going to end up drowning after all.

I will never let you fall I'll stand up with you forever I'll be there for you through it all Even if saving you sends me to heaven
"Don't drown, Please don't drown..." She whimpered as she took a step back. She readied herself to dive in and get the beige beast away from him. She dived in to the water looking at the blurred beige lion. She waited till she touched the lion lightly then she bit down and shook as head as she could.
She felt her breath hitch as the saw a glimpse of black under the lion she struggled as she tried to move it. Dallas don't die on me. She thought as air bubbles escaped her delicate maw.
