Shasta padded into the aromatic den, sighing fretfully. "Tisana, Robin? I seem to have developed a cough again..." Shasta rasped. He wasn't in all that bad of shape, but decided to be safe rather than sorry. His thoughts lingered on his mother and brother, who both passed away of what had appeared to be nothing more than a mild chest infection...
Robin emerged from the depths of the cave, herbs clenched ever-so gently in her jaws. She wrinkled her nose. "By Lupus' claws you SMELL!" She exclaimed.
"I fell into some dung..." Shasta confessed, embarressment apparent. "I thought I'd washed most of it off..."
"Well why don't I go get something to help that? And something for your cough, too..." She went to the back of the den to examine the herb stores.

Tisana giggled. "Robin, be nice!" The healer began licking Shasta all over. She didn't care about the foul taste. Her taste-buds had like, died. She peeled a clemintine and pushed it toward Shasta. "There, dear, eat that. The acid will help your throat. Robin," she called. "You know what to get for a cough. Concider this your first test."

Shasta grumbled good naturedly as his sister left to the back of the den. Shasta sniffed the citrus curiously, never having seen such a thing. Well, if Tisana says so... he began to munch on the orangey-squishy thing. Robin narrowed her eyes, determined to get this right. She took some tansy for his coughing, and dipped a clean elm leaf in some honey they had stored, taking only a small amount of the golden substance. She padded back over to Shasta and pushed the tansy and honey towards him. (This illness will drive Robin crazy...she'll never be able to get the right "herbs" )

Tisana nodded. "Passed. The honey was very smart. Dispite my never telling you, you assumed it was needed for the throat. But, really the clementine will clear that up. Why is the honey needed? For soothing some of the scratchy-ness that the citrus fruit leaves behind. Clever. See, I told you you were a great healer, Robin."

Robin beamed under her mentor's praise, amber eyes glowing with happiness. "Thanks!" She turned to her brother, who looked somewhat drowsy. "Eh...you should take a break, I think. You've been out with Iver and Pernille too much!" She laughed, tone slightly uneasy. She was secretly fearful for her brother. He'd been so sick a while ago...it had killed their mother and brother, and almost Robin herself. That had inspired her to go into healing. But what if this got worse....what if she couldn't heal her brother?

Tisana sensed Robin's unease. "Robin, go make your brother a nest in here. I'm going to keep him here for awhile." She turned her attention back to Shasta. "Cough."

Shasta gave Robin and Tisana and odd look, but did as he was told. He coughed a bit, but it evolved into a terrible hacking, echoing through the den.
Robin backed away, gathering some moss, fur, and feathers from the back of the den and putting together a nest for Shasta.

Tisana's face wrinkled in concern. "Now lay down." She put a paw on Shasta's back. "Cough and then breathe deeply."

Shasta did as he was told, nearly retching as he did so. Phlegm was thick in his cough, and Robin's whiskers twitched in worry.
"Tisana, Robin?" Saskia called. Robin turned to see Saskia, Pepper, and a black pup she didn't recognize standing at the entrace. "Crow has a cough, and Pepper does, too." She explained.

Tisana barked orders, never looking up from Shasta. "Robin, peel a clementine and half it, one for Crow and one for Pepper. Give them the same herbs as Shasta. Prepare two nests, this may be contagious. Then, I want you to go around and search the other wolves. If any of them have the slightest cough, bring them here."
She looked up, worry clear in her eyes. "This may not be as serious as we thought, and it might be a coincidence, but it might not be. We need to take extra percautions. Tell everyone that the healer den is off limits to anyone but the sick. Saskia, go now. We don't need you sick, too."

Saskia nodded, leavng to go spread the word. "I'll bring back anyone who's coughing! You and Robin just worry about the ones you've got!" She called to the twosome. She turned and dashed around the camp.
Robin nodded, forming two more nests near Shasta's. She frowned, deeply troubled by the sudden occurences. She cut the clementine in two and gave Pepper and Crow each a piece. Rushing to the back of the den, she gathered honey on two elm leaves and a large bunch of tansy. She arefully paced back to the main den and placed the herbs in front of the patients.
Crow and Pepper ate the clementines, then the tansy and honey. They each went to their new nests. Crow fell asleep almost instantly, but Pepper tossed and turned, coughing every now and then.

Tisana nodded approvingly. "We need to find someone to gather herbs... I don't know where we're supposed to find clementines in winter.... oh well, we'll find some sometime. None the less..."
She pushed thyme towards Pepper. "There. Now sleep. You'll need rest."

Pepper swallowed the thyme gratefully and fell into a troubled sleep. He coughed and twitched now and then, as did Crow and Shasta.
Robin glanced at Tisana, wondering if she should go out on an herb run. "Should I go fetch more herbs?" Her ears flicked as she heard Holly and Sharpie speaking to Night about Olive. "I'll ask Dorokiba to come with me," Robin promised. She, by requirement, had learned the basics of fighting, but she would rather be safe than sorry.

Tisana nodded. As if on cue, Kiba popped her head through the entrance. "You rang?"
Tisana rolled her eyes. "Go to fetch herbs with Robin, Kiba. Be back as soon as possible."
Kiba nodded and her head disappeared.
