She nodded, picking up a scent, and lopping toward the source. She didn't respond to him as she moved, and quickly toward the source, picking up the old stag again. She dropped down into the tall grass, and slowly slunk forward toward the scent. This should be easy. She stopped, checking to make sure the wind was blowing up wind, and not down wind toward the stag. They could sneak up. Just a bit further... Suddenly, she shot forward, her columns picking herself over the terra, and toward the stags back. She threw herself on top of him, and her teeth sunk down into the nape of his neck.

Aha, revenge on the one that got away! Looks like you’re not so lucky this time, mate. Restraining his thoughts within his own mind, Icarus studied the target his companion had selected. He followed silently, slipping into a more incognito mindset and abandoning his silly demeanor. It was hunting time, and he could already hear the pounding of their victim’s heart. Joker jolted to life, and Icarus gave chase. As the fae leapt for the neck, the stag began to flee, and Icarus instinctively ran to cut it off. His fangs clamped down in a death grip around a foreleg, knocking the prey off-balance. Momentarily, the buck’s ribs were practically screaming its heartbeat into his ears. There it is! Digging his heels into the earth, Icarus stalled the writhing mammal while Joker efficiently shredded neck.

Her claws dug into its back, her teeth gorging themselves into it's neck. The huge rack on its neck was swinging dangerously close to her chasms, and she thought she would lose one just before he was flung to the ground suddenly. She was flung from his back, but quickly up and sprinting before the great stag could shake Icarus off. Her teeth latched on to the front of his throat once again, her claws ripping at his chest, trying to get the bloody thing to bleed out. Come on! Die already!" She growled to herself, ripping her teeth from his flesh, and blood came pouring out.

A flicker of concern passing his features as Joker was wrenched from the stag’s grasp, Icarus’ calm soon recovered as she returned for the fatal blow. The beast struggled, but grew weaker—Icarus squeezed his jaws tighter as it flailed desperately in its last attempts for freedom. Slowly, the ancient buck began to tire, and Icarus suddenly released him. “Back off,” he barked, quickly fleeing from the wild yet slow swinging of antlers. “Let him wander a bit; he’s done with. He’ll bleed out.” He slipped to stand a few yards away from the beast, which was gradually losing the means to fight. Icarus smiled a bit, blood splashing onto his paws. The hard part’s been done; why waste the extra energy? He sat, preparing to wait out the minute or so until the stag’s demise. What a beautiful morning.

She dropped as soon as he had told her too, and rolled to escape the wrath of his slow, yet steady antlers. She moved over toward him, yet if he watched her close enough he would see that she was moving with a slight limp. Source of the limp? Her right front leg. She sat back on her haunches, watching as the stag struggled. Blood smeared her maw and chest, running down her front pillars and sides. Yet, none of it was her own. "I was aiming to make him bleed out. I think I did pretty well." She smirked, but didn't look at him.

Not noticing the limp, Icarus twirled an audit and flashed a grin at his companion. “Impressive, I’d say.” Settling in comfortable quiet, the great animal struggled with the difficulty of death, attempting several times to heave himself away from the waiting carnivores. But, at one point, crimson completely obscuring his chest and face, he simply collapsed, submitting to the will of wild. Nature’s cycle, friend. “Alrighty, then, ladies first.” Icarus turned to his companion, lifting a paw and nodding toward the fresh carcass.

She grinned softly, and got up, limping toward the kill. Her tail brushed through the air unsteadily because of the limp. Her audits perked slightly, but she made it over to the dead animal and picked a spot to chew on. Soon, her face was covered in blood, and she glanced at him to see if he would was eating yet. What was she doing? Dining with an outlaw? Wow....Was it his charm...No! He did not charm her. That was for sure...he intrigued her some how. She shook the thought from her mind, and once her belly was full she stepped back, satisfied.
Without throwing him another glance she limped over to the waters edge to attempt and clean all the blood from her maw. Though it wasn't totally possible.

Whiskers twitching, Icarus’ gleeful expression faltered slightly. Hesitating a moment, he padded after her, scenting her. Slowly, he tore at the meat with incredible zeal, hunger overwhelming the best of him. But, his stomach soothed, he continued to glance up at Joker. As she made her way to the nearby stream, he gnawed contemplatively on a rib before standing and heading after her. By the time he made it to where the current tugged at his underbelly, Icarus lost any interest in cleansing himself. Instead, he padded closer to her, and gently licked the injured limb. “You two got a little rough there.”

Her body seemed to jerk slightly as she felt his tongue against her flesh. But strangely, she didn't move further than that. It was just unexpected, that's all. She eyed him slowly, before answering. "Yes...I suppose we did. Yet...I was always taught that as long as you could attack then you should. Never give up, never surrender." She answered, an audits perked towards him but nonetheless, she did not speak again. Instead, she waited for him to speak. The river moved slowly, a soft melodic sound that lifted into the air around them. She worked on getting the blood from her chest, reaching all the spots she possibly could, figuring the rest would out out in time.

“A fighter, eh?” He glanced up with a grin. I admire that in a woman! “Well, remind me not to get on your bad side, alright? Hey, hold on—” He reached forward, rasping his tongue carefully over a patch of blood on her shoulder. “You missed a spot,” he laughed. He then dunked his head forward, attempting to wash the coloring that caked his pelt. Fortunately, the warm shades of his fur blended nicely with the red, and the lingering maroon hue would be barely noticeable after a decent wash.

She grinned at him slowly, and said "Now, tell me. Why would I do that if I like a good fight every now and again." She smirked, and then sat back. She watched him for a moment, trying to figure him out. Figure out what he found so interesting in her. She finally sighed, sliding to her stomach to lay her head on her paws. A frown graced her maw. To be quite honest, she was not happy in this pack. She felt like she didn't belong... Like she didn't belong anywhere. You see, that's because the answer to that is simple: She didn't. She didn't come into this world the same way you and I did. She came into this world in an entirely different way.

“Aw, gimme a break; as soon as I get on your bad side, I’m gonna end up all beat up. And then I won’t be able to show my face to anyone ‘cause they’ll ask how I got all messed up and I’ll have to say ‘this lovely little Yozoran chica went apeshit on me’ and they’ll all laugh at me. I don’t think I could handle the mental scarring!” Rolling his eyes, he sloshed around in the shallows, batting at stray pebbles that had been swallowed by the current. Grinning childishly, he swished his tail, sending a light spray of water in his acquaintance’s direction. Hopefully soon-to-be friend. She’s quite amusing. “And did I mention that I’m also a pacifist? You’d slay me!”

"Oh, are you? I think I'd have to test that little theory out..." she said, closing her eyes as she got sprayed with water. She dropped down into a playful stance, her eyes pinned on him. "After all, it wouldn't hurt anything would it?" She asked, before shooting forward, and tackling him into the shallow water. She grinned gently, looking down at him. Now, his whole back and the back of his head were wet. A thanks to little ol' her. Joker smirked gently, arching a eyebrow down at him, tail wagging slightly. The water lapped at her columns, yet she didn't let him up. "So...I win? Or are you going to try?" She asked, titling her crown to the side.

In a sudden whirlwind of water, their kicking fit stirred up several tidal waves that smothered the riverbank. Most of his body submerged, Icarus tilted his head back, muzzle peering above the surface. Slowly, muffled words passed from her maw and to his waterlogged auds, and he titled his head curiously. The smile never left his muzzle. “Try? M’dear, I am going to cry. Help, someone! I’m being held hostage!” He was quiet for a moment, as if awaiting some genuine answer. “Hurm, it doesn’t sound like anyone cares about me very much. Oh, well—do your worst before I faint of terror!” He shifted feebly under her grasp, barely making an effort. His expression, however, was of melodramatic agony.

She giggled -Wait! Giggled?! What the hell?- She giggled, and gently sat down so her hind quarters were on his stomach, though she wasn't putting all her weight on him. She looked down at him curiously, and then said "How are you holding up, best buddy?" She grinned, audits flicking for the sound of vocals in the air. The water was lapping at their forms softly, the melodic sound filtering through the air. She looked down at him curiously again, and leaned forward slightly to press an audit to his chest. "Your still breathing so I think you don't need saving yet." She smiled sweetly, teasingly.
