Bristles of pine needles glistened, the inky clusters revived in hues of pale gold and green. The singed brick coloring of the trunks’ scaly hides lightened, and the black skies slowly faded into a melody of soft blues. On the ground below, grass grew damp with morning dew, sprinkling miniscule showers of crystals as the careful predator made his rounds. The sun was rising. A beautiful dawn. The pink of clouds nestled on the horizon, the lupine creature shifted on his course, nose leading him on a particularly promising trail of scent. His eyes were keen, and his thoughts were focused on the action ahead. Avoiding a collection of fallen needles, the wolf slowly shifted closer to his target. Nearby, an elderly buck grazed in the tranquility of a clearing. The male crouched, tensing as the scent grew nearer. All the same, despite how practiced a hunter he had trained himself to be, he was a thief. An outlaw treading on claimed property. But these packies always do have the finest meals. He shifted, the prey coming into his line of sight, and prepared to spring.

Joker had come around the corner to see a brute crouching, about to kill an aged stag. She smirked. She just had to ruin it. That's how Joker was, actually. She snarled lightly, and stalked forward. Her white pelt moved in the soft breeze, shifting the smell of the stag and brute toward her. "What they hell do you think your doing?" She barked, smirking softly as the stag ran off. Yes, she had to do it. Just had to.That's how her cruel mind worked. She sat back on her haunches, muscles tightening to perform the task.
Her audits were perked atop her poll, chasms laughing at the brute. Obviously, she showed no fear at all for the fact that this brute was something that she had never met before. So, shouldn't she fear it? Technically...yes. No, not if your Joker. An outlaw, most likely. Remember, she knew no boundaries and she knew no fear. She was basically insane, but she didn't really have to be that way. No, it was all in her head, but no amount of mentors, or teachers could get it out of her. Not much was known on where the gorgeous white fae came from. Some say she was born of the mist. Others say she was a direct descendant from one of the first original wolves and she had been sent here to show the way. What ever your theory be, it's probably not right, and no one will ever find out.
Her brilliant blue eyes summed him up and down, a smirk gracing her maw. "Ooh... I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were hunting on Yozoran territories, rouge." She chuckled, a soft growl mixed in with the sound that vibrated from her vocal cords. She suddenly stood, and drew closer to the brute, cocking her head to the side as she brushed past him to check out where the stag had been. "My bad." She said suddenly, and her muscles contracted once more, and she rolled back on her haunches.

The nice head of antlers was aged, multiple tines and twisted angles revealing a lengthy life and many struggles. Perhaps you’ve faced a hunter like myself, before, old one… but I’m afraid you won’t be so fortunate this time. Shifting his weight, Icarus arched into a position for pursuit. And then the stag, obviously spooked, fled the scene. That wasn’t me. The scent hit him, and although mildly disappointed, Icarus simply sighed and straightened his posture. “Or maybe you will be,” he muttered. His pupils darted about, and a voice lurched into range. A jeering tone, he deduced. Unable to help himself, his eyes fell into an exasperated roll. Wonderful. A charmer. Stepping out to meet the source of the sneers, Icarus was (delightedly) surprised by the face that accompanied it. Charming indeed. “Pardon me saying, but that was a wonderful meal you just frightened off. Now, wasn’t that a bit rude, ma’am? Or unnecessary, in the least?”

"Oh? Was it? I didn't realize that it was rude to protect something in my pack lands." She smirked, watching him for a moment. Her chasms blinked once, and then twice in a bored mannerism. Her audits flicked slightly, and she looked away. Her white fur was dazzling in the light, shining somewhat brightly. Her blue eyes fell upon him once more, and she said "Now, if you don't mind me asking what are you doing here exactly?" Her plume wrapped around her figure, and lay lazily across her front paws. Amusement danced around in her eyes as she watched him.

“Extremely rude, as a matter of fact. And no amount of sparkling blue eyes and beautiful white fur can ever excuse you.” He rose higher, offering an equally amused grin. He bowed low to the ground, his torso grazing the earth, and swished the bronze and beige patterns of his tail from side to side. “But if you must know, miss, I am Icarus. I’ve wandered over here with the intent to round up my breakfast so that I may continue breathing. All you funny little packies always keep the best goodies to yourself, you understand. And I have a particularly persnickety palate. Now, tell me, what are you doing here?”

"Awh...darn. I was hoping it would work, but seeing as it hasn't..." She trailed off, orbs rolling in their orbits. She glanced at him, watching as he bowed to the ground. She smirked, and nodded her head slightly, the only response she gave to his bow. She listened to his lyrics, and then shrugged. "I would say that it was a pleasure but then I'd be lying seeing that I hardly know anything about you except for the fact that you are here hunting, and your name is Icarus. So, now that formalities are out of the question, I believe I can answer you now." She grinned softly, amusement flickering across her features. "I'm in this pack, meaning I don't have to have reason for my being somewhere. There. There's my answer." She grinned broadly, audits twitching slightly. Oh yes. She was a hard one to charm.

Icarus raised a brow, studying the fae with faux hurt entering his gaze. “Ouch. Not at all a pleasure, eh? Kinda difficult to fix that.” His frame rose to meet his regular height, a relaxed wave washing over his muscles and bones. Despite the insults, he remained cheerful, that smirk never leaving his muzzle. Settling onto his haunches, he calmly listened to her reply, and laughed a little as she completed her explanation. “Well, that certainly sounds like a justifiable excuse, if a bit cold. What’s the matter? Is my fur messed up?” He raked a paw over his forehead, attempting to flatten his fur a bit, and rasped a tongue across his chest. “Any better? And what’s your name, if I may ask?”

He managed to get a chuckle out of her, and she rolled her eyes once more. "Well, aren't you vain? Worrying about how you look, you should be ashamed. Perhaps it's because of a different reason I'm being cold, as you say. Which, I think not, but your allowed to have your own opinion. I can not take that right away." Another chuckled slipped past her maw, yet no vocals followed for a bit. She finally nodded her head as if deciding that she would tell him her name. "My name's Joker. I suppose I could say that it's been interesting meeting you, but a pleasure?" She left the words unsaid to hang in the atmosphere above their heads. She watched him now, falling silent as she waited for him to speak. For she was sure he would.

A louder chuckled emptied from his maw in response. “I’m vain? Haha, I apologize, miss, I didn’t mean to give that impression. I was merely joking around.” As if on cue, he dropped onto his back, squirming around on his spine before rolling back onto his paws. He glanced at her, tongue lolling playfully for a moment, before laughing again. “But if you’d prefer me like this, I’ll surely keep that in mind.” He slid onto his stomach, gazing up at her with a fond liveliness. “So, Miss Joker, is it? Haha, perfect name. Suits you. As for me, I could settle for interesting, though I’ll work at making this more… bearable. Or fun. I’ll take either one.” He winked good-naturedly. “What pack is this, if you don’t mind me asking? My memory fails me.”

She arched an eyebrow, attempting to keep down another chuckle. What the he--? How was he getting her to laugh? This wasn't right. She smirked, and said "So I can tell. I'm surprised you haven't forgotten your own name." She commented, the smirk still gracing her maw. Her blue eyes watched him intently as if trying to figure out if she could trust him or not. Finally, she opened her mouth once more and said "You are in Yozoranian pack lands, I'm afraid. Pity for you, because you've ran into me. Unfortunately for you."

“Frankly, I’m rather astounded myself,” he muttered, rolling his eyes once more. His emerald gaze snapped to meet hers, tracing her outline and committing every singular feature to memory. Whether he would need to recognize her or if he’d end up finding another date, he had no idea. But no harm done he thought with a hidden smile. She’s a fun girl, isn’t she? “Yozoran territory? And I run into you, of all wolves?” He rolled onto his back, pawing at his eyes. “Ah, scary woman! Very scary!”

Joker smirked gently, and stood over him, cocking her head as she gazed down at him. "You are really strange, did you know that? Very strange indeed..." She muttered, her blue eyes glancing over him for a moment before she sat back, clearing her throat. That was a little too close to intimate for her. Even if it was just staring down at him from her standing over him. A little strange. "So, what is it you plan on doing once you leave here? I'm pretty sure that an outlaw...if I may call you that, such as yourself has his life planned a bit ahead, don't you?"

He beamed up at her. “So I’ve been told.” Assuming a more comfortable sitting position once more, Icarus disturbed his pelt with an idle shake, his mane of bright hairs suddenly relieved of dust. Twitching an ear, he titled his head, eyes shifting skyward as if in deep thought. “Hurm, I’d have to think about that… not really, actually. I’m more of a spur of the moment kinda guy. Lust for fun, and all that. Honestly, I think first on my list would be nabbing a meal from somewhere.” He laughed. “You know, to replace the one you so charitably chased away, although I’m sure the old boy is particularly thankful for that.”

She seemed to be warming up to him a bit for she sprung to her paws, and obliged herself. "Then, why don't you and I work up something to eat, shall we?" And with that, she stepped forward into a trot, brushing against his coat with her own as she passed by. She smirked softly, and tail flapping in the air as her paws picked her path daintily. Her jowls opened to find a scent and she threw another glance over her shoulder. "So, are you coming or not? I'd really rather not take the time to find a trail and then not pursue it." She said, stopping, and waiting for him.

Mildly surprised, Icarus brought himself to a stand as their pelts grazed one another. He smirked, the warmth of her passing body sliding comfortably against his own. Silently resisting the numerous perverted comments he could make about the scenario, Icarus simply lifted his head and nodded pleasantly. “Lead the way, Miss Joker.” He padded after her, peering about at the alien territory as if truly noticing its presence for the first time. He paused at a pine cone, and batted at it with a paw. “Let’s see if we can find another little morsel worth our efforts.”
