Mosca opened her eyes to see Halo, and felt the warmth of his touch. A small half-smile curled on her maw. "If it wasn't, what would I be doing here?" she woofed softly. She touched her nose gently against his. This time, instead of pulling away, she stayed like this for a moment longer.
I do love you...

Halo chuckled lightly. "Point taken." Halo pricked his ears suddenly as the undergrowth crackled nearby. His head raised and his ivory auds flicked up, his topaz orbs narrowing as he breathed in deeply. Someone was approaching but who? The scents seemed unfamiliar yet....familiar. Halo breathed in again, tail stiffening slightly.

An ebony pup sat, crouched, in the bushes. She was very thin, with her ribs clearly visible through her skin. Her eyes were wide as she stared through the bushes, and cautiously took another step forward.
Kasa.

Mosca turned, too, to stare after the noise. Inhaling sharply, she discovered a somewhat familiar scent... though she couldn't quite place it.

[Ärï]

Slowly, Halo moved toward the bushes, stepping around Mosca to do so. The scents were...familiar. Halo breathed in again and stopped, standing in front of the bushes. Dropping his head suddenly the brute gripped the scruff of a pup, a very light pup. Halo picked up the pup before it could squirm free and turned so Mosca could see the pup, his eyes questioning. He hadn't gotten a good look at the pup so he was hoping Mosca would have some answers as to why the pup smelled so familiar yet so different.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

Mosca took a pace forward, scenting the pup. But she hadn't needed to... the pup's appearance gave it away.
"She looks exactly like--"
Her eyes widened.
"...that's Fell's girl."

"You've seen my daddy?" Kasa asked from where she dangled above the ground. She was an exact image of Merci, with a white dash of fur on her chest.

[Ärï]

Halo gently put down Kasa, trembling slightly as he did so. Now that he got a good look at the little scrap of fur she was an exact image of Merci. His heart seemed to be doing summersaults as he looked down at his sister's look-alike. If wolves could cry he would have been, all pride set aside. Halo took a deep breath. "Is Shiro with you?" he asked softly, licking the pup's head. Glancing around, Halo wished Kuroshin or Star would make an appearance but neither seemed to be too close by.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

"How do you know about him?" Kasa asked, standing up and looking up at the brute. "Who are you?"

Mosca padded past the two wolves, sniffing the air for any signs of another wolf.

[Ärï]

Halo laid down in front of the pup so they were level. "Your mother Merci, I am her brother Halo. I've been taking care of Kuroshin and Star" Halo explained. "They've been looking for you and Shiro for a while." Halo tried not to choke when he said Merci's name and luckily got through without stumbling on his words. The brute kept calm liquid topaz pools on the look-alike of his beloved sister. "Do you know where Shiro is?"

[.Rabid Lycan.]

"Hello, Halo," Kasa woofed after he spoke his name. As he went on to say his brother's name, however, she seemed to be crestfallen of sorts.
"Shiro and I got lost and seperate from Star and Kuroshin... we've been trying to find our way back for quite a while." She pointed her nose in the direction that she had come. "Shiro is sick... he's resting in the hollow of a tree not far from here."

"I smell him," Mosca woofed, already heading into the thicket.

[Ärï]

"Alright" Halo said softly, licking the pup's forehead. "Don't worry, I'll help him but I think it's best if Star helps you."

Sitting back on his hunches, Halo let out a strong howl summoning the remains of his family. Star came swiftly, her ivory form meterializing out of the snow in minutes followed faithfully by Kuroshin. When Halo called neither took their time for he seldem called for no reason. Kuroshin smiled widly when he saw his sister and bounded to her. "Kasa!" Kuroshin stood wagging his tail, looking to Halo to see if it was ok to greet her.

"Star, can you take care of her? Shiro is ill, I want to take a look at him."

Star nodded and smiled, her sterling eyes lighting upon the black pup. Star strode to Kasa and started grooming her, whining softly in a motherly way.

Halo rose to his paws and padded after Mosca to find Shiro.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

"Kuroshin!" Kasa woofed, wagging her tail. She looked up as her foster mother approached. "I missed you too, Star!"

Mosca was already standing in front a dead tree, with its roots curling in upon itself to make a sheltered hole to form an entrance to a small den.
"He's in here," she woofed softly, peering into the hole. "Poor thing..."

Shiro lay there, breathing fast and coughing horribly. He had a fever, and the rank of vomit was heavy in the air.

[Ärï]

Halo looked down upon his nephew with sad eyes. Gently he gripped the pup's scruff and pulled him out of the den as carefully as he could manage. "I need feverfew for his fever" Halo murmured, going over herbs he'd learned from Merci. "Juniper berries for breathing..." His thoughts trailed off to silence. "Stay with him." The brute turned and vanished into the undergrowth in search of herbs.

Star smiled at Kasa. "I missed you too" the ivory fae murmured softly, licking Kasa's head as Kuroshin bounded up an butted his sister playfully, licking her muzzle and wagging his tail happily.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

"Kuroshin-- I saw a huge moose the other day. It was ten times bigger than Star," Kasa yipped to her brother.

Mosca nodded, and stood over Shiro with the pup between her forepaws. Licking his forehead gently, she hoped that he would get better...
I doubt anyone here could handle more death.

[Ärï]

"Really?" Kuroshin asked, his eyes going wide. In all honesty he'd never seen any animal bigger then Halo.

Halo soon reappeared, herbs held carefully in his jaws. Padding over to Shiro he sat back on his hunches and sifted through the leaves. Some were somewhat shrivled and he didn't have as many as he would have liked. Winter frosts and snows had hit hard and taken many plants with them. Halo only had so much to offer Shiro. Moving the pup's head a bit, Halo parted his jaws and put his muzzle near Shiro's, carefully peircing a juniper berry and letting the juice drip into Shiro's mouth and licked his neck to make sure he'd swallow. Turning back to the leaves, Halo chewed them carefully and placed his maw once more near Shiro's and made sure his nephew swallowed, sitting back and sighing when he was finished. "That's all I've got" Halo admitted, licking Shiro's head.

Shiro winced as the juice slid down his throat, but he tried to think positive. Maybe this will help me get better...

"You did your best," Mosca murmured. "Now nature will decide what'll become of him." She picked Shiro up gently by the withers and began to pad back to Star and the other pups.

"Really!" Kasa woofed, clearly happy to tell the story. "It's antlers alone were bigger than either of us! And it's eyes were" she held out her paw "big as my paw!"
